Final Post

Throughout this blog, I wanted to give people an outlook on one of my favorite video games. This blog has been a wonderful tool for people to get on overview on some of things that are in the game. This last blog, I will a summary of my experience with content creation and using social media as a tool to promote myself.

So, throughout the semester, I had to promote myself in order to drive views to my page. I would do this by sharing each post after I finished to Twitter. One thing that I would have liked to improve was my themes and overall display of my page. I think I kept everything very basic but if I changed some things around, more people would definitely check my page out. I could have promoted my content better by using multiple social media apps. I only used Twitter when promoting my blogs, so if I used other apps, I know for a fact more people would have checked it out. If I wanted to just use Twitter, I should have just used my personal Twitter instead of using my school account because I have a lot more followers on my personal than my school account.

The best thing about this project was me having the ability to choose my own topic. Sometimes teachers assign project but they have the topic chosen already which takes away from the students creative ability. This experience could benefit me in the future because I’ll know how to properly promote. If I get a job where I’ll have to promote the company, I now know what not to do and what to do. For instance, when the military goes out to promote people to join and they can’t be their physically, they’ll use commercials that appeal towards a certain demographic.

My most populist week was the week of 4/20-4/26. For that week, I had seven views and three visitors. My most popular post was the 1V1/Quick Scoping post. That post had a total of six views. I think it was the most popular because it dealt with something that is controversial in the Call of Duty community. Anytime something is controversial, it’s almost always going to be viewed heavily. Something that surprised me was that it kept track of everything even from the first post which was like in February.
