1V1/Quick Scoping

In terms of Call of Duty, the term 1V1 means; if you have beef with a certain player, you would settle it. Typically you would choose the smallest map in the game and with a sniper you would quick scope. A quick scope is when you barely zoom into your sniper scope and shoot.

The first instance of the 1V1 was back in 2007 with the release of COD 4. Now the go to map for this game was called Shipment and the go to gun was the M40A3 sniper. This was a bolt action sniper that was lethal from all distances with good handling. Although this was the start for this era in COD, Modern Warfare 2 truly made it take off.

You may ask, “do the game developers like people who quick scope?” Actually, there’s been years where they try to tone down the aim down sight speed of a sniper but eventually, the players somehow find a way to make it work. The developers aren’t the only people who hates quick scoping, other players also hate them.

In MW2, the go to map was Rust and the go to guns were the Barrett 50 caliber and the Intervention. While the Intervention was a bolt action sniper, the Barrett was a semi-auto sniper. Most of the time, if you want to quick scope, you would use a bolt action. Quick Scoping was so popular, that it spawned the most popular clan; Faze.

When you quick scope and you actually earn the kill, you get a real sense of accomplishment after. You may start out being horrible at it, but once you get the hang of it, you can have so much fun on the game. The best part of all of this, is when someone is talking trash and you invite them to a 1V1 and just wipe them off the game.
